Asessippi Ski Resort recently wrapped up a successful February long weekend, attracting a diverse crowd of local and long-distance visitors eager to embrace winter sports and entertainment. The weekend kicked off with the season’s first Late Night Skiing and Boarding event on Friday, featuring extended hours until 10:00 PM, accompanied by special pricing on lift tickets and rentals. The evening at O’Liftys Pub was enhanced by live music from local talent Willow of In Too Deep.
Saturday saw the slopes abuzz with the annual Rail Wars Competition, drawing in a record-breaking 40 participants across various age groups. Sponsored by Prairie Supply Co. from Dauphin, MB, and supported by Timberland Transport, Birtle Pharmacy, and Big White, the event offered over $2,500 in prize money and plenty of freebies.
The weekend continued with Asessippi’s BeerFest on Saturday and Sunday, where local breweries showcased their craft brews at Asessippi’s Bear’s Den. Attendees had the opportunity to sample 12 local brews. The festivities finished on Sunday evening with a spectacular fireworks display by Canfire Pyrotechnics.
Despite nearby areas facing snow shortages, Asessippi Ski Resort maintained ample snow conditions, providing a haven for winter enthusiasts. The resort extended its operations on Louis Riel Day, ensuring an extended weekend of enjoyment.
