Frigid temperatures didn’t put a freeze on the fun at Asessippi Ski Resort this February long weekend. Guests bundled up and made the most of the winter break, proving that prairie folks don’t shy away from a little cold.
The weekend highlight was the annual Asessippi Beer Festival, held inside the Bear’s Den. Featuring 12 local brews—including Asessippi’s very own signature lager crafted by Lake of the Woods Brewing Co.—the two-day tasting event offered a cozy retreat with great flavours and lively après-ski vibes.
The much-anticipated Rail Warz freestyle competition, rescheduled to Saturday, February 22 due to the extreme cold, didn’t disappoint. Riders brought creativity and skill to every run, landing bold tricks and keeping the crowd energized. It was a great show from start to finish, and a true celebration of local talent and terrain park culture.
Despite the chill, the resort remained open throughout the holiday and Louis Riel Day, offering solid snow conditions and warm hospitality. The Asessippi team kept things running smoothly, welcoming guests looking to squeeze in some winter adventure.
With Spring Break Week and the always-anticipated Slush Cup on the horizon, there’s still plenty of time to hit the hill before the season wraps up.
